The business idea
The dog coat came to fruition after the entrepreneur conducted market research and search for her dog on this product which is not available anywhere on the internet or in retail stores. It was by looking on online sites and on social networks and in pet stores, the entrepreneur found that there were no 3-season dog coats with integrated boots that adjust and attach to the coat. She therefore pushed her research outside Quebec, but without success. This is how she had the idea to produce it to fill this gap on the market and prevent dogs from losing their boots and protect them from frostbite due to salt and cold.
Our history
Like many Quebecers, the entrepreneur adopted a small Pomeranian dog from whom she bought a coat and boots to protect his paws. But like many dog owners, she has been able to see that dogs lose their boots during walks, or they fray. In 2 years, 8 pairs of boots were purchased, between $20 to $50 each, for a total expenditure of approximately $500 in boots and coats. Then following a visit to the veterinarian because of paws burned by salt and frost, the promoter began looking for a solution. She searches in pet stores, and they suggest balloons, they tell her it’s the most popular thing people use to hold up their paws or boots. She shares her idea that it would be ideal if there were some that attach to the coat and is told that would be a really good idea, but there isn’t. After looking in several pet stores, and online on the internet but it does not exist anywhere. So, she decides to have a custom coat and boots made for her dog. After several prototypes, she understands why no one has produced one before, because it took about twenty prototypes to get there.
That’s why she founded Doggie Wear Style.
